From the supplier: Technology-based assessment has made significant advances particularly in the area of special education Technology-based assessment systems are used to evaluate and assess a student's educational progress The technology goes far beyond test scoring offering features such as self-administration response evaluation and rules-based decision-making New technology addresses the over-representation of ethnic minorities in special education classes by ensuring that evaluations take place in the student's native language and that culturally relevant items are included Newer software assessment systems take a more holistic approach to assessment Students are allowed to work at a comfortable pace and are given control over the software and hardware in order to allow them to work at their own level
